In this study, plasmon-enhanced, porous TiO2 nanofibers decorated with silver nanoparticles were used to enhance the performance of DSSCs. Porous TiO2 nanofibers were fabricated by a simple electrospining and etching method with TiO2/SiO2 composite nanofibers. The high surface area of porous TiO2 nanofibers could provide sufficient dye adsorption for light harvesting. Moreover, the porous TiO2 nanofibers decorated with silver nanoparticles exhibited the greatest light absorption because of a surface plasmon effect. As a result, DSSCs showed an increased current density and a high power conversion efficiency compared to pristine TiO2 nanofibers-based DSSCs. |
