Nanoporous bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) for photoelectrochemical decomposition was fabricated on fluorine-doped FTO through electrodeposition and doped with tungsten to improve the poor electron transport properties. Here, we will fabricate a Co-WBiVO4 photoanode to show efficient charge separation and transport properties, and report valuable hydrogen production through urea decomposition. Currently, BiVO4 doped with 0.5wt% of tungsten was produced, and the maximum photocurrent density of 1.57mA/cm2 was obtained at 1.23V vs RHE under AM 1.5 illumination in a solution of phosphate buffer (pH7),showing relatively poor photocurrent density performance. To improve the photocurrent density and water oxidation reaction, we will incorporate cobalt to the as-synthesized catalyst. This study will suggest a way to produce valuable hydrogen through photoelectrochemical urea decomposition. |
