Semiconductor quantum dots(QDs) indicate unique size dependent optical properties due to quantum confinement effects. As one of semiconductor materials, ZnSe has attracted extensive interests, because it has almost non-toxicity. In order to improve the quantum yields and the photochemical stability of QDs, they need to be encapsulated in silica. In the present work, the NP5 (nonionic)/AOT (anionic) mixed microemulsion system was employed for preparation of silica-encapsulated ZnSe QDs in order to improve the PL efficiency and stability. Then, temperature-dependent photoluminescence of the silica-encapsulated ZnSe QDs were investigated. The present results implied that the silica-encapsulated ZnSe QDs may have potential application as bioprobe in sensitive biosensing and imaging. |
