Amphiphilic block copolymers, containing pH sensitive block as the hydrophilic segment, can provide significant benefits to diverse applications, such as drug delivery, cosmetics, chemical sensors, etc. In this work, pH-sensitive block copolymers of poly(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate and biodegradable poly(ε-caprolactone) (PDMAEMA-b-PCL) were synthesized with PCL macro-initiator in atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The chemical structure of PDMAEMA-b-PCL was confirmed by NMR and FTIR analyses. Micellization behavior of PDMAEMA-b-PCL under different pH condition was investigated with varying the molar ratio of [DMAEMA] to [CL] units and molecular weights. |
