제목 Novel role of Al2O3 nanoparticle layer in the dye-sensitized solar cells employing ionic liquid base electrolyte.
초록 Ionic liquid has been applied in various field, especially the electrolytes of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC), because of its high conductivity and stability. It is known that the cells employing ionic liquid as electrolytes can produce a long-term stability as well as a relatively high efficiency. However, without solvent, the coulombic interactions between the anions and cations in ionic liquid could interfere with ionic conduction and lower the performance. In this study, we investigated the effect by adding Al2O3 nano particle on TiO2 as an additional layer. The added Al2O3 nanoparticle layer can be expected to increase the dissociation of ion aggregates and improve the ion diffusion as well as scattering effect. Based on our experiment, the cell employing Al2O3 nanoparticle layer had a higher current density and conversion efficiency. Furthermore, the more improved efficiency was achieved by using the layer mixed Al2O3 nanoparticles with common scattering particles.
