Supercapacitor has gained significant attention for the past few years due to its excellent application as an energy storage device. Conjugated Microporous Polymers (CMP), a recent emerging material, was synthesized through Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of porphyrin monomers and studied as an electrode material for supercapacitor. Carbon-based material highly rely on its high surface area for good performance which makes CMP a potential candidate for future development. It also offers extended π-conjugation for conductivity and formation of transition metal complexes due to the presence poprhyrin macrocycles. The CMPs were characterized mainly by FT-IR to check formation of complex, XPS to determine the different nitrogen groups present and BET for surface area analysis.
