제목 Dispersion of metallic/ alloy nanoparticles into carbon nanotubes by γ-radiation via anchoring of polyaniline
초록 Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were modified and coated with polyaniline (PANI) to get MWNT/PANI composite. The sulfonyl groups in the composite and leucoemaraldine structure of PANI were used as nuclei for reduction of iron, platinum and mixed iron-platinum salts in the presence of γ-radiantion. Fe, Pt and FePt nanosized particles were found to be imbedded into MWNT/PANI composites. The existence of metallic/alloy particles in the MWNT/PANI matrix was ascertained through characterization by X-ray photoelecton spectroscopy (XPS), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), scannnig electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. Such embeded nanoparticles may find applications in ultrahigh-density data storage media or elesewhere.
