The Potential of DBP Gels containing Intervertebral Disc Cells for Annulus Fibrosus Supplementation: In Vivo |

Because demineralized bone particle contains various bioactive molecules such as cytokines, it is widely used biomaterials in the field of tissue engineering. In this study, we investigate the effect of injectable DBP gels on proliferation. DBP gels incorporated with different amount (5, 10%) of DBP. Annulus fibrosus cells were seeded into DBP gels (1x106/ml) and then, DBP gels were implanted into the dorsal subcutaneous region of nude mice for 1, 2 and 3 week. The effects of DBP gels on inflammatory response were investigated by examining the level of accumulated tumor necrosis factor-alpha. DBP gels were mice and the histology of implanted tissues was also performed to study the in vivo response of DBP gels. We confirmed that cell viability on DBP gels of 10% were higher than other gels. Also, from GAG and histology staining results, DBP gels of 10% showed that the improved characteristic of AF cells.
