제목 Dry Regenerable Sorbents for CO2 Capture from Flue gas
초록 As a part of 21C Frontier Project, "CO2 Reduction and Sequestration," a team of researchers from Korean Electric Power Research Institute (KEPRI), Korean Institute of Energy Research (KIER), and Kyung Buk National University (KNU) was formed to investigate and evaluate dry regenerable sorbents for CO2 capture from flue gas of power plants and others. We have screened sorbent formulations including alkali metal carbonates and forming techniques which give rise to suitable sorbents applicable to fluidized-bed process. This paper discusses some preliminary progresses achieved by mainly KEPRI’s team in searching for proper sorbents using spray-drying technique. During the sorbent screening with alkali metal carbonate, some of formulations gave very promising results in terms of shape, size and size distribution, and attrition resistance based on ASTM test methods.
