We prepared (Bi2Te3)x (Sb2Te3)2-x p-type thermoelectric materials via SPS(spark plasma sintering) technique and the thermoelectric properties have been investigated by using Harman method at RT. With the increase of Sb2Te3 content, the electrical resistivity and Seebeck coefficient decreased while the thermal conductivity increased. The maximum z value of the sintered thermoelectric material was 3.2 at RT. Also, p-type Bi2Te3–based ingots with 50mm in diameter were prepared by SPS technique. To verify the reliability of the ingots, thermoelectric and mechanical properties such as Seebeck distribution and density were studied. Finally, thermoelectric module with the dimension of 40mm X 40mm was fabricated by using p-type materials by SPS and n-type materials by zone melting technique. The Z value of the module was 2.7 at RT. |
