In this study, we present a new strategy for preparing multivalent poly(aspartamide) via top-down synthesis. We used poly(aspartamide) substituted with varying numbers of amine groups to control the morphology and spatial organization of nanoparticles. The top-down synthesis of poly(amino acid)s were performed by partially opening succinimidyl ring moieties of polysuccinimide (PSI) with the controlled number of nucleophiles reactive to conjugate with protein, RGD sequence, and iron oxide nanoparticle. These hybrid nanoparticles displayed that poly(amino acid)s' derivative tuned the morphology of nanoparticles and also magnetic force induced organized association between the particles and cells. Overall, this new strategy to prepare hybrid nanoparticle using the functionalized poly(aspartamide) would be actively used for cell culture platforms, biomedical implants, and Bio-MEMS devices. |
