제목 | A Study on AZ31 Mg Alloy Foam by Melt Foaming Method of Mg Foam Using Al or Ca as Thickening Agent |
초록 | Metal foam is a class of attractive materials, which exhibits unique combinations of physical, mechanical, thermal, electrical and acoustic properties[1]. Mg and Mg alloy foams are definitely expected to be particularly advantageous due to lower densities of their metal matrix, which are approximately two thirds of Al and good mechanical properties.[2]. But in the process of fabrication there are some difficulties for example the temperature can not be well controlled. So through investigated we explored the best process to take them off the productions have uniform pore size good compression characteristics and so on. The preparation process is as the following, a quantity of AZ31 Mg alloy was melted in a crucible at a proper temperature and then Ca particles or Al powder was added by a stirrer with rotation speed of 450 rpm to increase the melt viscosity. After the melt viscosity reach a proper value, the foaming agent CaCO3 was added and dispersed into the melt with the stirrer revolution speed of 1000rpm, leading to the melt being foamed gradually. AZ31 foam samples were cut and they were polished by emery paper. Then take some photographs and pore size and porosity were analyzed by using i-solution software. After that, AZ31 foams sample was polished and rusted. The thickness cells were analyzed by use of Metallurgical Microscope and software. Then SEM micrograph of AZ31 Mg alloy foam and EDS analysis of the cell wall. The compressive tests on these foams were carried out by UTM. The relationship between pore structures of foams and their mechanical properties is investigated. |
