제목 Soft micro/nano-composite materials for flexible/wearable physical sensors
초록  Flexible physical sensors based on soft materials are drawing substantial interests for various applications such as healthcare, human-machine interface, virtual/augmented reality, etc. due to their comfortable and compliant mechanical characteristics, as well as superior sensing performances, for wearable sensing. Accordingly, numerous sensors based on the composite of soft materials (eg. textile, elastomer, etc.) and functional nanomaterials (eg. graphene, carbon nanotubes, nanowires, nanoparticles, etc.) have been developed for the sensing of physical parameters such as strain, force, pressure, and touch.
In this talk, I will discuss recent development of flexible and stretchable physical sensors based on the micro/nano-structured soft materials developed at MINT Lab, KAIST as follows: a) Stretchable strain sensors based on metal nanoparticle thin films with numerous micro-cracks [1], b) Stretchable strain sensors based on metal nanowire percolation networks [2], c) Stretchable strain sensor array based on carbon-nanotube network [3], d) Soft pressure sensors based on high piezocapacitive properties of porous elastomer materials [4], e) Soft pressure sensors based on high piezoresistive properties of porous elastomer – CNT nanocomposite, f) Multi-contact 3D strain mapping sensor based on nanocomposite and electrical impedance tomography [5], and g) Self-powered soft and flexible pressure sensor.
