Synthesis of caffeoyl-prolyl-histidyl-Xaa tripeptides and evaluation of their antioxidative activities and long-term storage |

We have reported that caffeoyl-prolyl-histidine-Xaa-NH2 tripeptides (CA-Pro-His-Xaa-NH2) showed strong antioxidative activity among the histidine-containing CA dipeptides as well as a higher free-radical scavenging activity and lipid-peroxidation-inhibition activity than those of CA. It is assumed that the addition of an amino acid to the C terminal of the CA-Pro-His may enhance its antioxidative activity. In this study, long-term storage of CA-Pro-His- Xaa-NH2 was additionally evaluated under certain conditions. Change of NMR and HPLC profiles exhibited the stability with various conditions. We envision that the CA-Pro-His-Xaa-NH2 will be used as cosmetics and dermal therapeutic agents. |
