Silica/titania hollow nanopar¬ticles (HNPs) with 50 nm were fabricated via dissolution and re-deposition method, modified with hercep¬tin, and applied in the hydrophobic camptothecin (CPT) delivery agents to human breast cancer SK-BR-3 cells. This system has the following advantages for intracellular anticancer therapy: i) Facile antibody conjugation, simple loading process, and high loading capacity, ii) High selectivity for cancer cells owing to herceptin conjugation, iii) Excellent cellular internalization according to monodispersity and optimized size of HNPs, iv) Enhanced CPT delivery efficiency due to low drug release, v) Low toxicity for normal cells because of encapsulation of CPT. |
