A novel method to synthesize highly-elastic three-dimensional poly(L-lactide-co-e-caprolactone) scaffolds for cartilage regeneration |
초록 |
A biodegradable PLCL copolymer exhibited rubber-like elasticity has been investigated for cartilage regeneration. We fabricated sintered PLCL scaffolds using PLCL spheres which are synthesized through a novel method. The porous PLCL spheres were successfully fabricated through the simple process as well as sintered scaffolds exhibit highly elasticity. The surface of these scaffolds was modified using inorganic compounds which can enhance biocompatibility and cartilage regeneration. The morphology of the scaffolds was examined by scanning electron microscopy. Furthermore, chondrocytes were cultured to investigate cell growth study. These results demonstrated that PLCL spheres have a structure with homogenously interconnected open pores as well as the physical properties of sintered scaffolds can be maintained. On the top of that, surface-modified PLCL scaffolds significantly improve cell growth compared with non-modified ones. Not only can novel synthesized PLCL scaffolds significantly enhance cartilage regeneration but it can be also a potential candidate as cartilage tissue engineering. |
