제목 | Excavation of a collagen as a new biomaterial source |
초록 | Collagen are a fibrous protein which consist extracellular matrix. Animal-derived collagen have the possibility of contamination of the infectious agent with the raw material itself. Therefore, the method of extracting the collagen, and the safety related to the animal-derived virus are specially considered. Further, studies are actively conducted on sources that are capable of replacing animal-derived collagen. Therefore, in this experiment, collagen from duck’s feet (DC) was extracted from byproducts and used as a new collagen source. The DC was inferior in function or purity compared to demineralized bone powders (DBP) obtained from cattle and small intestinal submucosa (SIS) obtained from pigs. In comparison experiments between DC, DBP and SIS, DC showed higher cell proliferation than DBP and SIS, and showed potential as a useful biomaterial for corneal endothelial, bone and cartilage tissue engineering. Thus, DC is expected to be a promising source of collagen. |
