Study on Phase-Separated Domain Spacings of Active Layer and Photovoltaic Performances Correlation in All-Polymer Solar Cells |

The correlations between morphological behavior and photovoltaic performance of PDFQx3T and P(NDI2OD-T2)-based all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) were investigated. We varied the film-processing solvents (CF, CB, o-DCB and p-XY) with different volatility and solubility, thereby manipulating the phase-separation scales of all-polymer blends from nano- to meso-meter domain length (30 - 300 nm). The domain spacing of all-polymer blend was strongly correlated to the short-circuit current density (JSC) of the devices, while the open-curcuit voltage (0.80 V) and fill factor (0.60) were unaffected. All-PSCs with the smallest domain scale of ~ 30 nm, which is commensurate with the domain size of high-efficiency polymer/fullerene solar cells, had the highest JSC and the optimized power conversion efficiency of 5.1%. |
