제목 | Interfacial Instabilities in the Coextrusion Process |
초록 | Multilayer coextrusion of film and sheet has developed into an important plastic fabrication process. Different layers may be used to place colors, to bury recycle, to screen ultraviolet radiation, and to control film surface properties. The coextrusion process can be used to produce multilayer sheet, cast film, blown film and others. It has been improved over the past five decades, however, the coextrusion process exhibits some flow instabilities phenomena, which are not fully understood yet. The phenomenon of interfacial instability in the multilayer flow of immiscible Newtonian and polymeric fluids has been studied by a number of investigators using the linear stability analysis for various flow geometry. In this paper, the numerical simulation and experimental studies on the interfacial instabilities in coextrusion process have been investigated by the observing transient response of interface in rectangular channel. - Acknowledgements - This study was supported by research grants from the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (KOSEF) through the Applied Rheology Center (ARC) |
