Carbon dioxide emission regulations are gettingstricter, the need for lightweight transportation is increasing. In the case ofautomobiles, the use of adhesives is increasing due to the used of dissimilarmaterials in the physical bonding method. Beyond adhesion through simpleepoxy-based adhesives, the demand for various functional adhesives is alsoincreasing. The use of various functional adhesives is required depending onthe area to be applied such as vibration resistance and impact resistance.Accordingly, various functional adhesives used in automobiles will bediscussed. In the case of ships, the conversion of old ships to LNG carriers israpidly taking place. In the case of LNG carriers, there are many limitationswith epoxy adhesives in cryogenic temperature. Urethane adhesive with goodelongation properties is used to reinforce cold-resistant rigidity. We wouldlike to discuss the properties and technologies required at cryogenictemperatures. |
