Synthesis and electrochemical property of sequentially deposited Pt-Pd/C for fuel cell electrodes |

In our research, we compared between directly deposited Pt-Pd (DDPP) and sequentially deposited Pt-Pd (SDPP) supported on conductive carbon black in used catalysts for direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC). Catalysts were synthensized via polyol method. Crystallinity, structure and size of catalysts were investigated by Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Electrochemical properties were compared by cyclic voltammetry (CV). The sequentially deposited Pt-Pd/C support to increase electrochemical active surface area (ESA). In conclusion, the results indicated that the electrocatalytic activity of sequentially deposited Pt-Pd/C catalysts are better than that of directly deposited Pt-Pd/C catalysts. |
