Physicochemical properties of drug particles have a great influence on downstream processes such as filtering, milling, and etc. The related issues are considered to be important for crystallization design. Various variables can change the habits of the drug, demonstrating the possibility of overcoming the limits of industrial processes. Especially, high aspect ratio drug particles have difficulties in large-scale processes due to poor flowability, low packing efficiency .To solve these problems, we have added a simple porous device as a nucleating plate to enable uniform particle production with lower aspect ratios. The porous device induced heterogeneous nucleation in the solution, resulting in promoted nucleation. Through this method, it was possible to reduce the effort for changing the properties of the drug particles. The additional steps, often employed to solve the problems of the downstream processes occurring in the pharmaceutical industry, could be removed too. |
