High gas barrier membranes based on ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH)/graphene |

We investigated the barrier properties of ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH)/graphene oxide (GO) or EVOH/reduced GO (RGO) nanocomposites with various GO or RGO concentrations. EVOH/GO and EVOH/RGO nanocomposites were prepared by a solvent mixing method and casted on PET films. XRD revealed that GO and RGO fully exfoliated in EVOH. We performed the thermal analysis to EVOH/GO and EVOH/RGO composites by using DSC. The melting points of EVOH/GO and EVOG/RGO were decreased with increasing GO and RGO contents. We also demonstrated that the gas-barrier property of EVOH/GO or EVOH/RGO composite film is greatly improved compared to that of EVOH film and has high light transmittance. |
