제목 Charge Transfer in Organic Electronics: How and How Much?
초록 While conducting polymers have become a staple in nearly all organic electronic devices in use, the electrical doping, or the process of adding charge carriers, has been largely unexplored when it comes to fine-tuning the carrier concentration in organic semiconductors for improved materials and device performance. It has been demonstrated experimentally that low-level doping can help address a variety of issues ranging from the injection barrier to the charge recombination rate to the thermoelectric power factor. Then comes this fundamental question: What controls the level of doping, or the degree of charge transfer between the dopant and host? With this question in mind, I will discuss several molecular parameters based on results obtained from DFT calculations and propose a simple way to dope in a controlled manner. I will also introduce a chemically inspired procedure that allows the determination of the degree of charge transfer, model-free.
