Polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene(PP) of Polyolefin-based membranes has been generally used in lithium ion battery separator. However, polyolefin membranes showed thermal shut-down at high temperature conditions. In order to improve thermal stability, polyolefin membrane was coated with polyimide(PI) having good chemical resistance and high thermal stability by electrospinnig method. Electrospinning can make highly porous non-woven fabrics and electrospun fabrics have a high specific surface. Chemical structure of nanofiber was determined by H-NMR and FT-IR. The basic properties such as thermal shrinkage of separators, porosity, ionic conductivity, cell performance of the nanofiber composite membrane were investigated. Morphology of electrospun nanofiber was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). |
