One of the most important factors in the drug delivery system is the binding bewteen receptors penetrating through the cell wall of target cells and ligands and subsequent endocytosis of the drug. In order for this mechanism works, the drug carriers should consist of materials and structures favorable for the interaction with target cells. The layer-by-layer method for the preparation of drug carriers is a essential strategy to allow structural stability, endocytosis, and controlled drug release. In this study, microparticles impregnated with anticancer drugs were prepared using the layer by layer method, and their functional and physical properties were analyzed using various analytical instruments including scanning electron microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectroscope. The drug was released from the microparticles in a controlled manner. |
