Control of the metabolic flux in various condition has been highlighted. Therefore design and control of the metabolic flux of industrially important strains, have been of great interest because the titer of a target metabolite depend on the metabolic flux distribution. Redox potential of cell effects on the metabolic pathways direction; respiration is mainly used method for the reduction of cell redox states. Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the extensively researched strains that has electro activation. Industrially, K. pneumoniae is widely used as glycerol fermentator for the production of value-added chemicals such as 3-HP or 1,3-PDO. In this study, glycerol metabolic shift of anaerobic respiration in MFC was identified in K. pneumoniae L17. To identify that, both mRNA and metabolite-level analysis were conducted. The results indicate that electron excretion makes metabolic pathway shift and it could function as reductive pathway in K. pneumoniae L17 in anaerobic respiration. |
