Flavivirus detection system based on cell-mimic polymersomes conjugated with antibody |

Flavivirus, one of arthropod-borne viruses, has attracted interest from researchers due to its rapid spread of vectors and the high fatality. Increasing efforts have been made to design the flavivirus detection system as well as to understand their biology. Herein, we suggest an antibody-conjugated polymersomes (AbSome) for flavivirus detection with fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) system. We synthesized methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(L-phenylalanine) (mPEG-b-pPhe) and antibody-conjugated poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(L-phenylalanine) (Ab-PEG-b-pPhe) and formulated AbSome by thin-film method. In addition, FRET dye loaded AbSome showed a fluorescence emission change through specific binding with flavivirus. Accordingly, the system we suggest shows potential as a highly accurate and rapid flavivirus detection kit. |
