Fabrication and Characteristic Analysis of Acrylic Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (Acrylic PSAs) with High flexibility and Adhesive Properties for Flexible Display using Ethylene Glycol Acrylate |

Ethylene glycol acrylateexhibits very flexible properties because the free volume between the mainchains is increased by the ethylene glycol side chains. In addition, the chainlength affects the degree of crystallinity, secondary bond and chainentanglement, so it has the effect of improving the cohesion. Despite theseexcellent physical properties, studies on ethylene glycol acrylate-basedmaterials for flexible displays have rarely been reported. In this study, anacrylic PSA based on ethylene glycol acrylate with excellent flexibility andhigh adhesive properties was fabricated using blend and copolymerization, andwere compared to properties according to the fabricating method. Adhesion andflexibility of acrylic PSAs were controlled by the chain length and formulationratio of the ethylene glycol and evaluated its suitability as a flexibledisplay material through a 180° peel tester and a rheometer. |
