In this study, we have developed a strategy for the generation of patterned fluorescence images in polymer film based on the precursor approach. The two dihydroxyl groups of the dihydroxterephthaldehyde derivative were protected with acid-labile t-Boc groups. We observed that the t-Boc deprotection led to a significant alteration in emission properties of the alcohols. Patterned fluorescence images were appeared when a polymer film containing the precursor molecules and photoacid generators (PAGs) was irradiated with UV light through a photomask. |
