N,N’-bis-(2-tert-butylaniline)-3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic diimide (BTBPD), used in experiment, was crystallized to H-aggregates. In order to compare with synthesized raw powder-formed dyes, the dye aggregates were studied on photophysical properties such as absorption and emission behavior, fluorescence efficiency and Stoke’s shift. Various luminescent solar concentrators were fabricated by using the thermal free radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate monomer. The fluorescent dyes were then imbedded into the PMMA sheet. These dye-imbedded PMMA sheet was attached with multicrystalline silicone solar cell, side mirror and backside diffuse reflector. The solar cells were studied on their photovoltaic performance such as Voc, Isc, photoelectric conversion efficiencies and external quantum efficiencies. The effect of H-aggregates, appearing in crystalline form, was investigated on solar cell performance. |
