제목 Fabrication of Bio-glass Modified Injectable Bone Substitute for Improved Bio-compatibility
초록 In this work, we fabricated a modified injectable bone substitute with improved biocompatibility following the addition of bio-glass powder with conventional TTCP/DCPA based bone cement. The cement was modified with HPMC to improved strength and setting behavior. The HPMC polymer was cross-linked using citric acid as a cross linking agent. Parameter like setting time was evaluated with addition of different content of bio-glass powders with the previously optimized composition for HPMC and citric acid content. The IBS was incubated at 37˚C at different time intervals and was evaluated for the formation of HAp.  The fabricated IBS was characterized for its morphology by SEM. Mechanical properties like Vickers hardness was also evaluated. To investigate the biocompatibility, MTT assay was also performed and cell proliferation and adhesion behavior by cell culturing on the IBS for 1, 3 and 5 days was also investigated.
