제목 Development of biocompatible silica composites by hydroxyapatite grafting
초록 Glass ionomer cement is composed of aqueous solution of polymer and glass powder. Silica is the main component and it function as filler in the glass powder. In order to get basic information about interaction between silica and biocomponent, we have decided to use cover glass as substrate for basic study. First, surface of cover glass was reacted with silane coupling agent to produce primary amine groups. This surface-modified glass was further reacted with hydroxyapatite(HA) to prepare biocompatible silica composites. Then, we have taken silica particles for further study. Surface of silicon dioxide particles were modified by silane coupling agent. Amine functionalized silica particles were reacted with HA nanoparticles. Each step was analyzed by SEM, XPS, FTIR and also characterized by confocal microscopy and WST-1 assay. Cell compatibility test of biofucntionalized silica/HA composites is in progress.
