Cancer is the most highly incidence rate of disease and remains the leading cause of death in worldwide. Recently, many researchers are studied that drugs are released at an appropriate rate using various stimuli-responsive polymer. Poly (N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) is known as temperature-responsive polymers as it has a sharp lower critical solution temperature(LCST) that changes hydrophobic or hydrophilic properties. First, PNIPAM is synthesized and thiolized. Thiolated PNIPAM binds to synthesized gold nanorod(GR). After that load DOX to PNIPAM/GR complexes through electrostatic interactions. When laser is contrasted, the gold nanorod emits heat and the PNIPAM becomes hydrophobic, causing aggregation by hydrophobic interaction. Then Dox could be released from the PNIPAM/GR. Reported work demonstrates the controlled drug release upon increasing the temperature by combination of thermos-responsive polymer and the photo-thermal effect of GRs in response to Near-IR laser contrast. |
