In this work, chloroprene rubber(CR) was modified by grafting acrylic acid (AA) and emulsified by phase inversion emulsification method with nonionic surfactants. Its graft ratio and graft efficiency with the concentration of AA werestudied. Stabilization of the CR-g-AA emulsion was also investigated through the droplet size, viscosity, adsorption characteristics and Zeta potential. Graft ratio increased together with the increasing concentration of acrylic acid. With the increasing content of the mixed surfactant, the droplet size decreased, resulting into the increased of viscosity. In particular, CR-g-AA emulsion with low absorbance in the UV spectrum indicated the highest value of Zeta potential. |
