Physical properties of polypropylene/cellulose composites prepared by melt-blending process |

There has been an increased interest in green composites because they are ecofriendly. Cellulose has attracted interests as potential reinforcing nanofillers for various polymers, especially for biodegradable polymers. Therefore, in this study, polypropylene/cellulose composites were prepared by melt-blending followed by compression molding. To improve interfacial adhesion between PP and cellulose maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene(MAPP) was used. Physical properties of the PP/cellulose composites were investigated by UTM and izod impact tester. Thermal properties of the PP/cellulose composites were investigated by TGA. The effects of changing cellulose and MAPP contents on the physical properties of the composites were elucidated. |
