Multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWCNT) containing 1-pyrenylmethylmagnesium bromide (PMgBr), Grignard reagent, and PK composties were fabricated and analyzed their characteristics. The grignard reagent introduced as physisorption into MWCNT reacts with the carbonyl group of pk to produce PK grafted MWCNT(PK-g-MWCNT). PK / PK-g-MWCNT composites have significantly improved interfacial adhesion and dispersibility in polymer matrix compared to PK / MWCNT composites. The interfacial adhesion energy between PK and MWCNT, MWCNT-PBr, and PK-g-MWCNT was quantified using the generalized drop on fiber method. The mechanical properties of composites for each content of MWCNT also showed the highest level of PK-g-MWCNT / PK composite compared to PK / MWCNT composite. Formation of PK-g-MWCNT was confirmed by FE-SEM, HR-TEM, FT-IR, XPS and TGA. The thermal behavior of composites, crystal properties and mechanical properties were confirmed by DSC, XRD, Raman spectroscopy and UTM. |
