제목 Phenylene vinylene derivatives containing cyano groups: synthesis and characterization
초록 Three different phenylene vinylene derivatives were synthesized by simple methods. Nanoparticles of two different compounds (1 and 2) were obtained when water was added to their respective THF solutions. The fluorescence quantum yields of the nanoparticle suspensions were much higher than those of their solutions. On the other hand, the third compound (3) formed micron-sized particles, and exhibited the opposite result. The enhanced emission of the nanoparticles were attributed to the intramolecular planarization and H-aggregation, while the decreased emission of compound 3 particle suspension was attributed to the formation of excimers since compound 3 is flat.
