제목 | Preparation of MMA-based Amphiphilic Nonfouling Surface |
초록 | In the presentation we demonstrate a preparation method of amphiphilic MMA surfaces with a short nonfouling oligoethylene glycol side-chain that enables long-term, cell repellant surfaces. The MMA based nonfouling polymer was synthesized by free radical polymerization of methylmethacrylate (MMA), poly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (referred to herein as hydroxy-poly(oxyethylene) methacrylate, HPOEM) and poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (referred to herein as poly(oxyethylene) methacrylate). The number average molecular weight (MW) of the comb polymer (Mn) was ~30,000 Da with a polydispersity of ~2.3, as measured by gel permeation chromatography using PS calibration standards. The composition of the terpolymer was characterized by 1H NMR in CDCl3. The nonfouling property of the polymer spin-cast on a variety of substrates was confirmed with the adsorption experiment of cell-lysate and protein solutions. We also demonstrate that the MMA-based nonfouling surface has the potential to become a powerful tool to control the seeding of cells. Fig. 1. Chemical structure of amphiphilic nonfouling polymer |
