Solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) has attracted considerable attention in energy storage devices but has low ionic conductivity at room temperature. To overcome it, we introduced polymer-in-salt system with ion hopping mechanism. In this system, large aggregates of salt make percolation path for mobile ion. Therefore, the harmony between polymer and salt and the solubility of polymer for salt are important. So we tried to obtain SPEs having high solubility according to hard/soft acid base (HSAB) principle. SPEs consist of two types of aliphatic polymers (poly(ethylene oxide) (hard base), poly(ethylene imine) (soft base)), two types of aromatic polymers (poly(1,4-phenylene ether-ether-sulfone) (hard base), poly(1,4-phenylene sulfide) (soft base)), and four types of salts (LiCF3SO3 (hard cation/hard anion), LiCl (hard cation/soft anion), AgCF3SO3 (soft cation/hard anion), AgCl (soft cation/soft anion)). We investigated the effect of HSAB principle in polymer-in-salt system by ac impedance. |
