제목 | Synthesis and Characterization of PLA/HNT composites using In-situ polymerization |
초록 | Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is a biodegradable polymer, which is used in many fields such as medical, packaging, etc. However, it has some limitations for applications due to its brittleness and low thermal stability. Therefore, in this study, PLA/ halloysite nanotube (HNT) composites were prepared by in-situ polymerization of L-lactide with HNT contents. HNTs were surface-modified with polyethylene imine (PEI) based agent to avoid aggregation. The degree of polymerization and chemical bonding between PLA and HNT were observed by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The surface morphology and dispersibility were confirmed by atomic force microscope (AFM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). To investigate the thermal and physical properties of the composites, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and universal test machine (UTM) were used. |
