Polypropylene/Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) melt blend was prepared using melt blending technique. In order to overcome the poor compatibility of PP and PLA, several kinds of compatibilizers were used. In addition to that, according to the annealing condition of PP/PLA alloy, thermal property and physical property were improved. Also, we tried to improve toughness of PP/PLA by blending with an impact modifier. Physical property, thermal property, morphology and rheological behavior were characterized by flexural modulus, IZOD impact strength, heat distortion temperature, DSC, and ARES. As a result, we could improve the physical and thermal property of PP/PLA alloy by adding compatibilizer with some compositions. |
