Poly(N-isopropylacryamide) (PNIPAM) is the most widely studied smart material because of their thermo-sensitive phase transition at the lower critical solution temperature (LCST). Particularly, stimuli-sensitive hollow microcapsules have been extensively attracted scientific interest due to their potential applications in numerous fields, such as drug delivery systems, vesicles for enzymes, chemicals and sensors. We demonstrate the fabrication of hollow PNIPAM microcapsules layered with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) via interfacial polymerization of inverse (water-in-oil, W/O) emulsions. |
