제목 Effects of Clay Minerals on the Absorption Characteristics of Superabsorbent Polymers on Surface-Crosslinking
초록 Superabsorbent polymers (SAP) are crosslinked hydrophilic polymers that can absorb tens or thousands of times their own weight of water. SAP is used in various fields such as horticulture, soil and hygiene. In this study, SAP was synthesized using carboxylated acrylic acid and vinyl sulfonic acid. Surface-crosslinking was performed to improve the absorption performance of SAP. Acetone was used as a solvent for surface crosslinking, and various clay minerals were added as additives. Ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether was used as the surface crosslinker. The centrifuge retention capacity, absorbency under load and liquid permeability were measured to investigate the absorbency of SAP. In addition, FT-IR and SEM were used to confirm the structure and surface properties of SAP, respectively.
