A series of aromatic hyperbranched polyimides were prepared by condensation polymerization of a commercially available A2 type dianhydride monomer 4,4-biphthalic anhydride, with a BB’2 type triamine monomer, 2,4,6-triaminopyrimidine. In this work, the molar ratios of BPAD and TAP were varied with 1:1, 3:2, and 2:1, and the structures and properties influenced by the molar ratios were studied. FT-IR and 1H NMR were used to verify the molecular structures of the obtained HBPIs. The degrees of branching of the obtained HBPIs which were determined from 1H NMR were increased from 32 to 75% with the molar ratios increased from 1:1 to 2:1. The glass transition temperatures of the polyimides were obtained by DSC. And TGA reflected the excellent thermal stability of the obtained HBPIs. |
