제목 Preparation and Characterization of Ionic Actuator based on Polypyrrole and Solid Polymer Electrolyte
초록 Conducting polymers (CPs), such as polypyrrole, polythiophene and polyaniline, show volumetric changes during their electrochemical redox process due to the exchange of counter-ions between the polymer and an ionic electrolyte related to doping mechanism. In particular, polypyrrole (PPy) has been studied most extensively because of its high electrical conductivity and good environmental stability under ambient condition. In this work, we have investigated the construction of a new CP actuator, fully polymeric, based on two PPy film electrodes and a solid polymer electrolyte, polyurethane/Mg(ClO4)2. Polyurethanes (PUs) were synthesized from 4,4’-methylene bis(phenyl isocyanate) (MDI), 1,4-butanediol (1,4-BD) and three types of polyols, poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), poly(propylene glycol) (PPG), PEG/PPG copolymer. And chemically synthesized PPy was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and 4-probe technique. The morphology and ionic conductivity of these electrolytes were studied by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and alternative current (AC) impedance measurements.
