제목 High Performance Graphite Counter Electrode for Dye Sensitized Solar Cells
초록   Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC) emerged as a viable substitute to expensive solar to electric energy conversion technologies. Despite the advantage of good catalytic activity of platinum counter electrode in DSSC, higher cost and lower stability in corrosive electrolyte drives the need for the development of alternative counter electrode materials. In this respect, we report the successful application of graphite as I3- reduction electro catalyst for DSSC applications. The catalytic performance of graphite electrode was evaluated by measuring the charge transfer resistance (RCT) in symmetric thin layer cell configuration. Observed RCT is nearly close to the value of common platinum electrodes. Under one sun illumination, graphite counter electrode based DSSCs shows >6 % efficiency, value comparable to that of platinum counter electrode based devices prepared at similar experimental conditions.
