제목 | Influences of Spreading Solvents on Langmuir Monolayers and Langmuir-Blodgett Films of PS-b-P2VP |
초록 | It is well known that amphiphilic block copolymers can usually form the surface micelles at the air/water interface. On the other hand, a copolymer solution with selective solvent exhibits micelles when the solution concentration is above the critical micelle concentration (cmc). In this work, different solvents (including nonselective and selective solvents) were used to spread monolayers of polystyrene-b-poly(2-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P2VP). The monolayers were characterized with the Langmuir film balance technique and morphologies of the corresponding Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films were studied by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM). Different spreading solvents show a large influence on the surface pressure-molecular area (p-A) isotherms of the Langmuir monolayers. Moreover, the influences of molecular weight, temperature, and concentration were also considered. |
