제목 Electrical characteristics of vertical type transistors using Alq3 and Bphen
초록 We have fabricated vertical type organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) using tris-8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum (Alq3) and 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Bphen). Vertical type OTFT using Alq3 and Bphen has a layered structure of metal(source)/semiconductor/metal(gate)/semiconductor/ITO(drain)/glass(substrate). The semiconductor layers and electrodes of OTFTs were deposited by vacuum evaporation technique. Organic thin films containing various grain structures are controlled by changing the evaporation rate and substrate temperature. Atomic force microscopy analysis of the film surface indicated that the surface roughness is significantly related to the growth condition. The static characteristics of the fabricated OTFTs were investigated. In addition, we have investigated the feasibility of fabrication of OLET (organic light emitting transistor) based Alq3 having electron transfer and emitting property.
