제목 Carbon quantum dot-based light-emitting diodes for next-generation display technologies
초록 Display is widespread in our daily life, which is used in smartphones, tablets, television, augmented reality/virtual reality devices, and public information displays. Although organic light-emitting diode (OLED) currently provide display platform with high-resolution (4 K and 8 K resolution) and flexibility, they still have some critical issues such as burn-in and lifetime. Recently, quantum dot-based light-emitting diodes (QD-LED) have been drawn attention to be a promising candidate of light emission devices for enabling high brightness, wide spectral tenability, and color saturation. Here, we propose that the multicolor emissive carbon quantum dots (CQDs) can be adopted to serve as emissive materials due to their superior optical properties such as tunable (430 – 670 nm) and narrow-bandwidth (> 40 nm) emissive colors, and photostability. In addition, the synthetic processes for mass production of CQD with multiple color emission have been developed by a simple chemical treatment, which can be achieved to lay the groundwork for the next-generation display technologies to realize our real colors.
